The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, has taken action against Mr Mfonobong David Udoudom, a lecturer in the General Studies division, who was captured in a video allegedly harassing a female student.
The lecturer was apprehended in a compromising situation on Monday, allegedly attempting to engage in a sexual relationship with a female student in return for a grade. In a statement released by Okwun Omeaku, Acting Public Relations Officer of the UNN, it was emphasized that the university has a strict policy against sexual misconduct.
The lecturer has been suspended indefinitely with immediate effect pending the investigation by a disciplinary panel established by the University.
The University of Nigeria maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual misconduct involving both staff and students.
The institution is dedicated to safeguarding students from any form of abuse or exploitation, and if found guilty by the disciplinary panel, Mr Mfonobong David Udoudom will face appropriate consequences in accordance with university regulations.
