I Fell Victim to a Scam Attempt while Pursuing Entry into Wizkid’s Label- Seyi Vibez
Seyi Vibez, a well-known musician from Nigeria, has spoken about how, in the early years of his career, he fell victim to fraud when he tried to sign with Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment record label.
He said he looked up a number when he Googled how to join Starboy Entertainment. When he called the number, he said that after paying N10,000 for the registration form, which he had done, he was barred.
This was revealed by the “Cana” hitmaker in a recent interview with Lagos’ Wazobia FM.
“I remember when I was 13 years old, I went to Google and typed, ‘How to register to Starboy record label,’” stated Vibez. “I wanted to sign to Starboy.”

When I contacted the number I saw, the person who answered told I needed to pay N10,000 for the form.
“I did it by selling my phone and giving the person N10,000, but he blocked me right away. He identified himself as the recruitment officer for Wizkid.
I promised to attend the screening, give a performance, and have Wizkid assess it. Thus, I gave in to it.
He cautioned aspiring musicians from registering with any internet record labels.
