Usman Ado, the Sarkin Fulani of Kwara, and two other people were found guilty of kidnapping and sentenced to life in jail by an Ilorin High Court.
Usman Ado and two other individuals were taken into custody and charged with two counts of kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnap.
Abubakar Ahmad was allegedly abducted by them, and they demanded a million naira ransom before he was freed after 20 days of imprisonment.

One soldier, who is currently on the loose, participated in the kidnapping.
In line with section 15 of the Kwara State anti-kidnapping statute, Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State high court rendered her decision, finding the Sarkin Fulani and the other two people guilty of the two count charge.
On both of the charges, she gave them life sentences that would serve concurrently.
