In his book “Working with Buhari: Reflections Of A Special Adviser, Media And Publicity (2015 – 2023),” Femi Adesina, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, revealed that Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President, had conspired with Yakubu Dogara, the former House of Representatives Speaker, and Ike Ekweremadu, the former Deputy Senate President, to take control of the National Assembly in 2015.

Adesina explained that Saraki collaborated with lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to secure the necessary support, as many senators from the All Progressives Congress (APC) were not aligned with him.

Despite this, Adesina noted that Buhari was displeased with Saraki and Dogara’s rise to leadership positions within the National Assembly.

During a meeting with APC legislators, it was discovered that the Senate had already been convened and an election was underway, with the required number of members being made up of renegade APC members and the PDP.
