Deji Adeyanju, a rights activist based in Abuja, has characterised former Senate President Bukola Saraki as a politician with moral values who battled the despotism of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Despite the tyranny that prevailed at the time, Adeyanju claimed that Saraki’s record as the eighth Senate President is still unsurpassed in Nigerian history.

As the rights activist celebrated Saraki’s 61st birthday, she said this.
Adeyanju stated in a statement he signed that Saraki took conscious measures to stop Buhari’s administration from heavily indulging Nigeria in debt.
Adeyanju claims: “Let me take this occasion to greet Senator Bukola Saraki, a brilliant leader, a happy birthday. I ask God to keep watching over your life and the lives of those you love on this anniversary of your birth.
“Throughout your political career, you have demonstrated impeccable moral character. Despite the dictatorship that prevailed at the time, your record as the Senate President of the 8th Nigerian Senate is unsurpassed in the annals of our nation.
The intentional measures taken by the Senate, led by you, to stop the current government from engulfing the country in needless debt, as seen by the rejection of roughly eleven pointless loan requests.
Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to you for your kindness and assistance to the family of my late friend, Comrade Ariyo, following his untimely death. God bless you, gentleman.
“May you keep navigating the difficult task of nation building, and may your light shine brightly.”
