Sam Amadi, PEPT: “Justice delivery in Nigeria is terrible
Sam Amadi, a public affairs analyst, criticised and called awful the way the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s (PEPT) ruling was presented.
Amadi expressed displeasure that the public still does not have access to a copy of the verdict.
Following the ruling issued by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) on Wednesday in Abuja, he made his comments.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, the five-man panel dismissed the petitions submitted by Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in their ruling.
Amadi, who is also the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, believes that the court decision should have instead been delivered in its final, amended version.
Amadi said in a post on his social media account on Friday that although the court has rendered its decision, it may still take days to type it before making a copy public. He expressed concern that the final copy might be significantly different.
“Justice delivery in Nigeria is horrible,” he wrote. The PEPT verdict ought to have been delivered in its final, amended version. You will find it validated and placed on the website shortly after delivery.
“You must now wait days before typing it. The final copy can differ significantly. No quality control.
