According to the club, Potter has promised to work with them to make the changeover go smoothly.

Graham Potter has left Chelsea Football Club, according to the club’s announcement, which also notes that the coach has committed to work with the organisation to ensure a seamless transition.

Bruno Saltor will lead the team as Interim Head Coach, the club added in a statement on Sunday.

Chelsea has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League under Potter’s leadership, where they will play Real Madrid.

The Blues’ chances of advancing to the next round of the European competition, though, are now considerably slimmer following a 2-0 home loss to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Chelsea issued a statement in which it expressed its gratitude to Graham for all of his work and contributions and its best wishes for the future.

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, the club’s co-controlling owners, were cited as saying, “On behalf of everyone at the club, we wish to thank Graham genuinely for his commitment to Chelsea. We have the utmost regard for Graham both as a coach and a person. We are all unhappy at the decision since he has always handled himself in a professional and honourable manner.

We will all be supporting Bruno and the squad as we concentrate on the remainder of the season, together with our amazing supporters. There are still 10 Premier League games to play, plus the quarterfinal of the Champions League. In order to finish the season on a strong note, we will give each of those games our full attention.

The legendary Spaniard had seven prosperous years on the South Coast and is revered there. As club captain, he led the team to its first promotion to the premier division in 34 years.

He joined Brighton in 2012 from La Liga team Valencia and went on to play in 39 Premier League games between 2017 and 2019.

After hanging up his boots in 2019, he was hired as a member of the club’s coaching staff and reached the milestone of ten years with the Seagulls in June 2022.

After a nearly 18-year senior football career, he then followed Potter to the Blues. He has been invited to serve as temporary head coach as Potter has decided to leave Chelsea.
