Sallah: Ram stolen from Chief Imam in Jos
The theft of Imam Abdulkadir’s sacrificial ram has been denounced by the Chief Imam of the Mista Ali community in the Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
On the eve of Ed-el-Kabir, there was a significant downpour in the neighbourhood when the incident took place.
Following the two Raka’at prayers, the community’s Imam, Malam Haruna Yaqub, disclosed this during the sermon, criticising the act and calling it callous.
“During the night, our Chief Imam’s Ram—which he had specifically purchased to be sacrificed—was taken.

“We are quite surprised by what happened. Hearing this news took us by surprise.
This indicates a lack of fear of God among mankind. Yaqub expressed fear over people going so far as to pilfer ram intended for religious use.
However, Yaqub emphasised that everyone will answer for their conduct in this life and the next, urging the people to fear God and abstain from theft and other illegal behaviour.
It’s time for people to turn from their sins and follow Allah’s way, he declared. It’s still not too late. Individuals ought to abstain from wrongdoing and follow Allah’s instructions.
