Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known by his stage name Ruger, said he wants his coworkers to perceive him as “a threat.”

When someone is not viewed as a threat in the field, he believes it is negative.

He made this claim when discussing the inspiration for his popular song “Asiwaju” on the most recent episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, which is hosted by Adesope Olajide.

Ruger sang the song while slickly boasting in Pidgin and Yoruba.

He stated, “It [“Asiwaju”] is everything,” when asked about the motivation behind the boastful song. It’s a viby tune. Because I don’t want people to think I’m not dangerous, it’s also a personal statement.

It is bad when others do not perceive you as a threat. That category includes a large number of artists. Sincerely, I apologise and it’s horrible. When you announce the release date of a single or project and no one seems to care; when you are ready to release music and no one seems to be shaking. This is awful.

Make oneself seem dangerous. Whether it’s good or awful, people need to look forward to your release. I’m now operating at that level. This is intentional. My goal is to appear dangerous to my coworkers. Being a softy is impossible. If you don’t want to be a monster, become food. These days, a lot of people eat. I learned how difficult the music industry is. Mehn, it isn’t all about love. I am unable to tell you the truth. Just move at your own pace and be the monster.

Ruger stressed that rapper Dremo is the only buddy he has in the music business and that he has realised that not many people accept him for who he is.
