Rot in the educational system is to blame for youth restlessness and crime Mr. Kefas

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has linked the decline in education to youth unrest and criminality.

He made this statement on Tuesday in the state capital of Jalingo at a large meeting with the leaders of tertiary institutions from all around the state.

He assured them that funding would no longer be an issue by promising to set aside money from loans received by his government for education.

The governor also gave his approval for the payment of the state university staff’s unpaid wages.

He assured the school heads that the meeting with school heads would be ongoing and that he would be readily available to cater to their requirements.

He also disclosed that the loan that his government has acquired will be directly related to the programmes for accountability and transparency.

Kefas highlighted that the heads of higher institutions must support and buy into the free education policy in order for it to be successful, noting that the conference has become crucial as schools are ready to reopen.

The school administrators vowed to support him in his efforts to give the state’s citizens access to inexpensive education.

The vice chancellor of the state university, Rector of the colleges of education, agriculture, nursing, and midwifery, as well as health and technology, Takum, were present.
