Football star Cristiano Ronaldo reveals he may likely retire at Al Nassr in the next two or three years, signaling the end of an illustrious career in global football.
Cristiano Ronaldo has disclosed that he intends to retire from professional football while playing for his present side, Al Nassr. Nonetheless, it’s likely this won’t occur until approximately two or three years in the future.
By announcing his intention to continue playing until retirement, the prominent soccer player from Portugal has extinguished any chance of returning to Sporting Lisbon – where he first began.
Ronaldo informed Portuguese channel NOW that he is uncertain about retiring in the near future, possibly within two or three years. However, it’s likely that he will retire at Al Nassr.
“I am content with this club and also enjoy my time in this country. Playing here in Saudi Arabia brings me joy, and I hope to continue doing so.”
Following his bitter departure from Manchester United, Ronaldo joined the Saudi Pro League in December 2022 and has since netted an impressive tally of 50 goals in just 48 games for the club.
Although Al Nassr made a mega-money move, they have not yet secured any trophies. They came in second place to their rivals Al Hilal last season in the Saudi Pro League and also suffered defeat against them during the 2023-24 King’s Cup.
The media has estimated his contract to be valued at over $220 million.

At Euro 2024, Portugal advanced to the quarterfinals before losing on penalties to France; during which all of their matches were commenced by a 39-year-old.
For now, at least, his intention is to carry on playing for his country and he aspires to participate in the upcoming Nations League games versus Croatia and Poland.
The ex-Real Madrid striker stated that his departure from the national team would be an impromptu decision without any prior notification, yet it will also be a carefully considered one.
At this moment, my desire is to provide assistance to the national team for their forthcoming matches.
“I am eager to participate in the Nations League which lies ahead.”
Ronaldo, who has currently scored 898 career goals, further stated that he intends to retire from football without pursuing a managerial role.
His statement expressed that he is currently not contemplating becoming a coach of any team, be it the first or otherwise.
The idea has never occurred to me, I’ve never given it any thought. It’s not something that factors into my future plans. While I envision myself pursuing other interests beyond football, ultimately only fate can dictate what lies ahead.
