Tanzania’s Young Africans have eliminated Nigeria’s Rivers United from the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Stanley Eguma team held their opponents to a 0-0 draw on Sunday night at the Benjamin Nkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Young Africans prevailed 2-0 overall in the quarterfinal match.
After 24 minutes of play, the game was called due to a malfunctioning floodlight.
Before the game resumed, both teams were given 10 minutes to warm up.
Despite their best efforts, Rivers United was unable to penetrate the hosts’ defense.
In the semifinal match, South African team Gallants FC will take on Young Africans.
