Rivers United prepares for challenging CAF Confederation Cup matchup

A difficult CAF Confederation Cup draw is expected for Rivers United, according to OBASANJO NEWS24.

On Friday in Johannesburg, South Africa, the formal draw for the second-tier club competition of the CAF will take place.

At 2:00 p.m. Nigeria time, the drawing ceremony will begin.

The CAF Champions League draw will come next.

North African powerhouses Club Africain of Tunisia, RS Berkane of Morocco, Zamalek of Egypt, and USM of Algeria could be paired with Rivers United.

Last season, Stanley Eguma advanced to the competition’s quarterfinal round before being defeated by Tanzania’s Young Africans.

The Port Harcourt team wants to win the competition for the first time as a Nigerian club.
