Governor Siminalayi Fubara has highlighted that despite rumours of a widespread crisis and a tense atmosphere, Rivers State is still peaceful.
During a Thursday inspection of the Omodu-Eberi-Omuma Road in the state’s Omuma Local Government Area, Governor Fubara provided this clarification.
During the inspection, Fubara made a statement at Omuma’s Egbelu Junction, saying that citizens are proceeding about their lawful business without interference and that government operations are operating as usual.

He stated that any false notions regarding the state’s status were to be dispelled by the project inspections.
As part of the first anniversary celebrations, the governor also announced that the road project, which was originally scheduled to be eight kilometres long, had to be expanded by 14.6 km in order to connect with the bordering state of Abia.
