Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike firmly rejects any reconciliation with Governor Siminalayi Fubara amid the ongoing political crisis, stating there is no turning back.

On Wednesday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), dismissed any chance of reconciling with Governor Sim Fubara from Rivers State.

Wike has affirmed his stance on Fubara and declared that he will not reconsider.

During a press conference held to commemorate his one year as the FCT Minister, Wike stated that he is dedicated to fulfilling President Bola Tinubu’s instructions and not endorsing Fubara.

Since the governor took office, Wike and Fubara have been in constant disagreement.

The confrontation between the pair resulted in divisions within the state House of Assembly.

Despite the efforts made by Tinubu and other essential political entities, the predicament persists.

Wike expressed, “I wholeheartedly advocated for Fubara to become governor and have no remorse about it. If you do not wish to be a part of the team anymore, that is fine. Aregbesola was initially brought in by Tinubu but has since parted ways with the president.”

To be completely truthful, I must inform you that there is no turning back and my associates are aware of this. What sort of assistance do you expect? Have I ever left the path upon which I embarked? Unlike some individuals who lack ethical standards in politics, I adhere to principles. It was he who uttered “mind your business,” hence let me attend to mine without interference.”

“I am not concerned about this as my concentration is on the task assigned by Mr. President in FCT.”
