Rivers Crisis: Wike Accuses Odili of Partiality
Amid the ongoing Rivers crisis, Governor Wike accuses former Governor Odili of bias, escalating political tensions in the state.
The political turmoil in Rivers State continues unabated, with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, alleging that former Governor Peter Odili is supporting current Governor Siminalayi Fubara rather than adopting a fatherly role to help resolve their disputes.
Wike revealed this information on Sunday at a thanksgiving service in Port Harcourt, held for Martin Amaewhule, the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The Church of the Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Port Harcourt hosted a thanksgiving service to honor Amaewhule.
Present at the event were prominent politicians from various parties, including Victor Giadom, the APC South-South National Vice Chairman, and Aron Chukwuemeka, Rivers PDP Chairman, along with other distinguished guests.
In his speech, the speaker thanks God for guiding him on his political journey thus far.
In his address, the FCT minister tackled the political crisis in the state. He targeted former governor Peter Odili, accusing him of siding with Fubara against him.
Wike went on to emphasize several actions he had taken in support of Odili and expressed his confusion over why the former governor seemed biased against him.
This comes less than a day after Odili commended Fubara for his impressive progress in governance.
