Rivers crisis: Why God set up altercation between Wike and Fubara – Eze
Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the former national publicity secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), has stated that the ongoing dispute between Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is currently the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, is a result of divine intervention.
He claims that the state’s citizens have been protesting Wike’s purported hegemony and annexation of the state and its resources as part of his business ventures, and this has led to the war.
Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, or APC, Eze, stated that Fubara had done well in acting to free the state from Wike’s domination, as advised by responsible Rivers leaders and stakeholders.

Wike’s eight years in office, according to a statement released to the media, were the worst in Rivers State history.
He asserted that the state was ruled by an ungenerous and callous emperor under Wike’s administration, rather than under a defined framework of fiscal policy.
The Wike era, according to Eze, was a turning point that will live in infamy. He said that various anti-people, anti-democratic tactics were used during this time to deny other political parties their constitutionally guaranteed right to run for office, and that opposition political leaders suffered physical harm or had their businesses severely disrupted.
Eze went on, “The Wike period will go down in history as a time when the state government was unable to draw in even a single foreign investment.”
He charged that the Wike administration had imported an odd kind of government that was unheard of in any civilised state, one in which billions of people’s collective heritage was managed and decided by a single person.
“What gut will Wike have to state in public that no elected public office holder from Rivers State bought forms to participate in the 2023 general elections; that he single-handedly bought all the forms in which they used to participate in the 2023 general elections,” Eze asked. “If not that we live in a country where institutions like the EFCC doesn’t work.”
God “saw and orchestrated the conflict between Wike and his political son in order to free the state from the evil hold,” according to Eze, citing numerous other anomalies as well. “Therefore, those who are attempting to support Nyesom Wike against Fubara are indirectly attempting to confront God,” he said, adding that “if they don’t retrace their steps, they may live to regret their actions.”
