Rivers Crisis: Join us, you’re Dean of Nigerian politics- Tony Okocha tell Wike
Tony Okocha, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) Rivers State Caretaker Committee, has referred to Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as the dean of Nigerian politics.
According to Okocha, Wike has a broad political following in Rivers State.
During a speech at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Okocha pushed Wike to join the party and aid in assuming power.
Additionally, he charged that Sim Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, had demolished the state House of Assembly structure in order to keep the majority of its 27 members from taking seats.
Okocha claims: “We have publicly asked him to come over to the Mediterranean and assist us. I have courted him personally.” He is a political powerhouse throughout Nigeria, not just in Rivers.
“We won the presidential election despite losing all of the State House of Assembly members and three senatorial seats because he is a force to be reckoned with.”
“In Nigeria as well as in Rivers, Wike is the dean of politics. We are unable to pinpoint his influence.
