Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has announced his plan to present the 2025 budget to a four-member faction of the State House of Assembly.
Fubara will present the budget to Victor Oko-Jumbo, who leads the House of Assembly, rather than to the 27 lawmakers under Martin Amaewhule’s leadership.
He announced this at the official inauguration of two state-of-the-art community town halls, along with the launch of a tertiary scholarship and empowerment initiative by the Speaker for Akiama and Aganya communities in Bonny Local Government Area on Saturday.

He mentioned that the Speaker has overseen the screening of caretaker committee chairmen, accelerated executive requests, and will soon be crucial in passing the 2025 budget.
