Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has accused supporters of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of plotting to bomb the Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt. Fubara believes that this failed bombing was an attempt to justify declaring a state of emergency in the state.

He made these claims during a meeting with a delegation from the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation, led by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, in Port Harcourt.

Fubara stated that there was a plan to detonate dynamite at the hotel while the delegation was present, but the person responsible ended up injuring themselves instead.

The intention behind this act was to create a situation where the delegation would be discouraged from returning to the state and discussing the state of emergency. Fubara hoped that this incident would support the argument for a state of emergency, as the delegation had witnessed the events firsthand.
