Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reconciled with his estranged friend and the South-South Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Victor Giadom. Giadom, who previously served as the acting national chairman of the APC, is known to be a close ally of former Rivers governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

Wike recently visited Giadom at his residence in Rivers state, expressing his happiness to be back in the company of his friend. While Wike stated that the visit was a private one without any political motives, speculations have arisen that he may be considering defecting to the APC and leading a strong team to support President Bola Tinubu.

The event was attended by senators, members of the House of Representatives, leaders from both the APC and the PDP, as well as various other dignitaries.

Wike clarified that his visit was solely to spend time with Giadom and emphasized the importance of making a positive impact on the people in politics. He also highlighted how people across the country value him and seek to take pictures with him as a testament to his service to the people.

However, he expressed, “Let us disregard these hungry troublemakers on the streets. When the appropriate time arrives, we will discern who holds authority and who does not. There is a suitable time for everything.

“Now is not the time for politics. When the opportune moment arises, we will identify individuals for who they truly are. Feel free to insult me as much as you desire or employ everyone on social media against me. I have never concerned myself with discovering who is criticizing me. Politics will come into play. We did not participate in the election based on social media. We engaged with the people, they listened, and they believed in us.”

Regarding his alliance with Giadom, he remarked, “Political parties will come and go, but friendships will endure. We have made mistakes, as we are all human, but friendship remains.

“When I was appointed as a Minister, Victor Giadom led a team to congratulate me. It does not matter where you belong; what is important is the welfare of Rivers. If you aspire to be a successful politician, the greedy ones will not appreciate you. No one has thrived in politics without acquiring enemies. Those who despise you are in the minority, while those who adore you are in the majority.”

Wike reminisced about his tenure as the Governor of Rivers, emphasizing that he will continue to support President Tinubu’s administration.

He stated, “During my time as governor, Nigeria became aware of Rivers State. That is the message I have always conveyed. Therefore, no one should be fearful. I have no regrets for standing alongside my colleagues and friends, advocating that the presidency must be given to the south.

“I was offered everything imaginable, but I declined. That is why I will persist in supporting the government of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu. As I return home, I am content knowing that my friend is back.

“This visit I made today will stir up a lot of trouble. Some individuals will commence their own visits. Follow those who are knowledgeable about the path. Continue to support Victor and all your leaders who genuinely have your best interests at heart.

“For the first time in history, an Ogoni man is the chairman of works. I am delighted that Ledum Mitee is a member of the NNPCL. Let no one divide the community.”
