Rivers APC announces that the interim injunction against Beke’s leadership has been vacated, allowing him to continue his role.
The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has provided clarification that the judge responsible for handling a lawsuit brought by Omiete Efrebo and nine other plaintiffs against Emeka Beke, state chairman of APC, had vacated their initial court order.
An interim injunction was obtained by Efrebo and nine others on April 12, 2023. This restrained Beke and two other individuals from serving as chairman or legal adviser of the APC while also suspending them from the party.
At the Port Harcourt-based Rivers State High Court, a suit was filed.
During a press conference held in Abuja, Festus Fuanter – the Deputy National Secretary of APC remarked that Tony Okocha’s appointment as head of the seven-member caretaker committee was made following court orders issued against Beke’s executive team.

Rivers State Legal Adviser, Iheanyichukwu Dike responded by indicating that the interim injunction pronounced on April 12th, 2023 by Justice D.G. Kio was lifted on January 30th, 2024.
According to him, the court dismissed Efrebo and nine others’ fundamental lawsuit while granting a N200,000 expense in favor of Beke and two other individuals.
On Wednesday, Dike disclosed that Beke and the rest lodged an interlocutory appeal at the Port Harcourt Court of Appeal to challenge the April 12, 2023 interim order granted.
Upon discovering that the order had already been vacated in January 2024, they quickly retracted their appeal.
On August 26, 2024, the appeal was withdrawn and a notice submitted.
Dike stressed that the lawsuit involving Efrebo and others versus Beke and two others “has been resolved in its entirety by all courts.”
He encouraged the public to ignore rumors and assertions made by individuals whom he referred to as “detractors of the APC in Rivers State.”
