Former President Goodluck Jonathan has made a plea for peace in the political crisis in Rivers State, urging Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike to collaborate.
Speaking during the flag-off of the Trans-Kalabari Road, Jonathan expressed concern over the political tension in the state and emphasized the importance of unity among outgoing and incoming governors for the benefit of the citizens.
He called on Wike and Fubara to work together in developing the state and its people, stating that the ongoing tension would not be beneficial. Jonathan joined other leaders and well-meaning Nigerians in calling for a truce and ceasefire, emphasizing the need for collaboration to project the state positively.
The stability of Rivers State, known as the heart of the Niger Delta, is crucial for the nation’s overall development.
