Rhodes-Vivour’s Lagos remark has vindicated Deputy Speaker Kalu, according to ex-lawmaker Chukwu, fueling further political discussions.

According to Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, a former Minority Leader in the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu’s statement urging Governor Alex Otti to join APC has been proved right amidst its widespread coverage and discussion through media platforms.

Following the declaration by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, gubernatorial candidate for the Labour Party in Lagos State’s 2023 elections, his party aims to wrestle power from the incumbent APC and assume control of Lagos State in 2027.

During LP’s prolonged stakeholders’ gathering in Umuahia, Rhodes-Vivour stated that the party is now capable of breaking APC’s control over Lagos.

As previously reported by OBASANJONEWS, Kalu expressed confidence in APC’s ability to produce the next governor of Abia State with a similar comment.

It was announced by the Deputy Speaker that Otti, the current governor, will be the final Labour Party (LP) leader to govern in this state.

Many Nigerians, particularly the opposition parties, criticized this and it resulted in an attack.

During an interview with journalists, Chukwu expressed that Rhodes-Vivour’s statement was similar to Kalu’s belief regarding the APC winning Abia State’s governing position in the upcoming election.

He pondered over the reason for the vilification of the deputy speaker, who simply expressed his aspiration to expand his party and enable Abia State to receive equal benefits from Federal Government similar to other states under APC’s control.

Undoubtedly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has played a significant role in the constructive repositioning of Ndigbo that addresses their longstanding sufferings with bold and fearless communication skills.

It was recently declared with confidence that the Labour Party in Abia State is destined to lose the 2027 governorship election, while their political rival, APC, will emerge victorious and produce the next governor of Abia State.

During a meeting of Labour Party stakeholders in Abia State, Rhodes-Vivour – the ex-governorship candidate from Lagos state who participates within the same party – reiterated his previous statement.

“He confidently predicted that in the 2027 governorship election of Lagos State, the Labour Party will emerge victorious and take over power from their current opponents.”

He stated that unless one is capable of criticizing Rhodes-Vivour, they have no grounds to belittle the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in front of others.
