Results from the Plateau governor election show that PDP candidate Caleb Mutfwang won seven out of thirteen local government areas.

Caleb Mutfwang, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor of Plateau, has won seven of the 13 local governments that the Independent National Electoral Commission has so far certified (INEC).

The candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, won the remaining six.

Prof. Idris Amadi, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, served as the returning officer for the March 18 gubernatorial election, and he declared the results.

Mangu, Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Bassa, Langtang North, Langtang South, and Mikang are among the local governments that the PDP candidate won.

Meanwhile, the APC candidate was in the lead in the local governments of Shendam, Kanke, Pankshin, Kanam, Jos East, and Wase.

According to the results’ specifics, PDP received 77,279 votes in Mangu, where there were 224,784 registered voters and 106,220 accredited voters, while APC received 25,570 votes and the Labour Party (LP) received 1621. In Barkin Ladi, where there were 125,311, PDP received 32,119 votes, APC received 18,568 votes, and LP received 4,118 votes.

PDP received 18,647 votes, APC 12,657, and LP 1,878 in Riyom, where there were 81098, 34,034, and 59018 certified voters. In Bassa, where there were 157,009 registered voters and 59018 accredited voters, PDP received 29,135, APC 25788, and LP 2581.

According to the outcome, PDP received 27826, APC received 20,756, and LP received 6575 in Langtang North, where there were 136,108 registered voters and 56,534 authorised voters.

There are 72,956 registered voters in the South, 31,039 certified voters, 16,104 PDP voters, 12437 APC voters, and 846 LP voters.

With 63,790 registered voters and 23,774 authorised voters in Mikang, PDP received 12,027 votes, compared to 10,691 for APC and 672 for LP.

At Kanke, where there were 102,567 registered voters and 43,366 authorised voters, the APC received 30, 815 votes, PDP 17, 733, and LP 5,169. PDP 6, 870, LP 633, 35, 436, and APC all received votes.

APC received 28, 827 votes, PDP 15, 957, and LP 7,949 out of a total of 101, 264 authorised voters in Pankshin.

APC scored 48,710, PDP 28706 and LP 1171 in Kanam, which had 164,29 total registered voters and 79,379 recognised voters.

According to the results, APC polled 35, 01, PDP 26557, and LP 269 in Wase, which had 168, 415 registered voters and 23,121 accredited voters. In Jos East, where there were 23,121 authorised voters, APC received 11, 852, PDP received 7238, and LP 1347.

The local governments of Jos South, Jos North, Quan Pan, and Bokkos have yet to publish their findings.

The results compilation has been postponed until Sunday at 10 p.m.
