According to Rep. Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, the 10th national assembly decided to address problems with different taxation throughout the nation.

He stated that a law would be used to resolve the problem.

When Mr. Lee Hun Seung, the South Korean ambassador to Nigeria, paid him a courtesy call in Abuja on Tuesday, Abbas made this statement.

He claimed that a committee had been formed to rectify the issue and that both nations had committed to doing so in order to support the growth of enterprises.

He added that the presence of more than 20 South Korean companies in Nigeria and investments totaling more than N3 billion spoke good for the nation and should inspire it to do more.

He claims that doing so will reduce the impact of several taxes.

He praised the collaboration between the South Korean and Nigerian parliaments since 2015.

He said that such an investment would be worthwhile and that the 10th Assembly’s main goal was to deepen the economic relations between the two nations.

He urged the South Korean parliament to keep working with the Nigerian parliament on legislation that would strengthen relations between the two nations.

He also advocated for more business development through trade agreements and investments in the mining and petroleum industries.

Speaking, Seung urged Nigeria to strengthen commercial connections between the two nations, stating that it was prepared to assist Nigeria in the technological sector.

He added that Nigeria has the greatest trading partner in the African continent and that Korea, which possesses technology, would be willing to form a collaboration that would benefit the two nations.

He claimed that President Bola Tinubu will go to the G20 summit in September and that he would further discuss partnership with the president of South Korea.

While congratulating the President on his election, he stated that the meeting will provide a new basis for more partnerships between Nigeria and South Korea.
