The intention behind the proposal of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu’s initiative is to bolster federal endeavors aimed at tackling the surging prices of food and other necessities.

To alleviate the economic difficulties faced by the nation, all 360 lawmakers will collectively contribute a noteworthy amount of money from their monthly salaries. This equates to N108 million per month for each lawmaker after reducing their salaries.
