Bills aiming to establish at least 47 new federal universities in different federation states during the first six months of operation have been passed by the 10th House of Representatives (Reps) for second reading.
Not less than fifty-six bills to build Federal Medical Centres (FMC) across the nation have been passed by the House for second reading.

The measures’ inclusion in the approximately 962 bills that the House passed for first reading in the six months following its inauguration was disclosed by the findings.
The House is also debating a number of proposals that would create, in addition to the current establishments, approximately 32 Federal Colleges of Education, 11 Federal Colleges of Agriculture, and five Federal Polytechnics.
There are forty polytechnics, twenty-two federal medical centres, forty federal universities, and 27 federal colleges of education in the nation at the moment.

For instance, Lagos State has asked for the creation of three additional Federal Medical Centres on top of the current one, according to an analysis of the House order paper outlining the institutions and other measures being considered.
