The House of Representatives initiated an inquiry into the escape of Nadeem Anjarwalla (Head of Binance Africa) from the custody of the National Security Adviser.
The decision was made following a motion of urgent public importance presented by Dennis Okafor during the plenary session on Wednesday.
Anjarwalla and Tigran Gambaryan were detained in Abuja, with Anjarwalla managing to escape and leave the country.

Okafor expressed that Anjarwalla’s escape was a source of shame for Nigeria and requested the House to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Additionally, the House refuted allegations of soliciting bribes from individuals, as raised by Kama Nkem Kanma during a point of order on privilege.
Speaker Tajudeen Abbas instructed the Clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria, to utilize the media to counter the accusations made by Richard Teng, CEO of Binance, regarding alleged demands for money by members of the House.
