Aliyu Madaki, a candidate for the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), who is running in the Dala Federal Constituency of Kano State, has been detained by the Kano Police Command.
According to Obasanjonews24, Mr. Madaki honoured a police invitation on Wednesday as a result of his viral photo displaying a pump action gun during the NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso’s homecoming rally.

On February 23, amid the culmination of his presidential campaign, thugs reportedly attacked the NNPP candidate’s motorcade along Zaria Road in Kano. Mr. Madaki purportedly oversaw a crackdown on the thugs.
A joint security team used firearms to arrest Abdullahi Ramat and Munir Dahiru, the APC’s local government chairman in Ungogo and Rimingado, respectively, after the event.
The local government chairmen were released without being charged by the police, who afterwards paraded 85 goons who had been detained alongside them during the altercation.
