The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has pledged to see that the ongoing renovations of the National Mosque and the National Christian Centre in Abuja are completed on schedule.

After reviewing the ongoing renovations of the two national monuments in Abuja on Thursday, Wike provided the guarantee.

The National Mosque and Christian Worship Centre leaders visited Wike, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), and they urged him to finish the rehabilitation projects.

After promising them his unwavering support, Wike said he would visit the two centres to assess the situation firsthand before determining the best course of action.

Shortly after the inspection trip, the minister informed the media that more work needed to be done, which is why the National Mosque renovations had to cease.

He gave his clearance for the contractor to be paid to finish the extra work after expressing satisfaction with the job that had been done thus far.

Wike stated that he would consider the cost of the phase two refurbishment project at the National Christian Centre and approve it provided it falls within the budget that FCT is able to provide.

He pledged to seek President Bola Tinubu for approval if the cost exceeded the FCT approval threshold, and he would ensure that Tinubu would not leave such significant national artefacts.

He declared, “He takes all religions as one because we are one Nigeria; he is not anti-religious.” In NAN
