The Federal Government has pleaded with Nigerians to endure the hardships of gasoline subsidy reduction and its detrimental effects on cost of living, pledging that overall living standards will significantly improve.

Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, made this statement on Monday in Abuja. He reaffirmed the Tinubu administration’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerians while also acknowledging that no government is perfect.

“Nigerians can expect nothing less from this government. Even though the President means well, things can go awry. The SGF instructed a delegation of the North Central People’s Forum (NCPF), led by Senator Jeremiah Useni of Sardauna Plateau, to his office on Monday.

President Tinubu has already taken a number of bold actions, according to Senator Akume, which have had a good influence on the national economy and demonstrated to international and domestic policymakers that the government is serious about doing business.

Akume expressed satisfaction with the delegation’s credentials, the majority of whom having held important posts at the national and state levels.

Even as he asked for their invaluable advice and prayed for them, he stated, “I’m very proud to be associated with you all from the home base.”

The members came to congratulate the SGF on his appointment and wish him a fruitful tenure, according to the Chairman of the National Executive Committee of the NCDF, Eng Sani Ndanusa.

Ndanusa, who held the highest position in the North Central zone, urged Akume to “take absolute political control of the zone by having quarterly meetings with the North Central Governors Forum, NCPF leadership and with other critical political office holders to discuss developmental strides of the zone.”

He urged him to recruit important appointments to the North Central zone, which should include competent members of the NCPF, and referred to the OSGF as the actual heart of the government.

In order to take use of the prospects in the zone, including its land mass, water resources, and mineral deposits, Eng Ndanusa said the forum is working hard and using all of the human resources at its disposal. He informed the SGF, “We hope to have a commission to reposition the North Central zone.

Akume is a seasoned administrator and politician who merits the position he holds in the current administration, according to General Useni. “I am pretty familiar with him. This government is performing very well because of his well-deserved appointment, according to the former Federal Capital Territory minister.

The NCDF, which consists of six states plus the FCT, was referred to as the highest forum of the people of the North Central zone by Chief Jacob Tilley-Gyado. “I joined this forum because of its important goals. The former senator declared, “We are the centre of gravity, and we must help our own to succeed in office.

Chief Steven Lawani, a former deputy governor of Benue State, Ambassador Ayuba Ngbako, Prof. Sheni Doknan, Dr. Mohammed Santuraki, Amb. Mohammed Mabdul, Hon. Yekini Alabi, Hon. Mrs. Mary Nwagulu, and NCDF Secretary General Khaleel Bolaji are also included in the group.
