Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, recently shared a story from his time in the 8th Senate where he was saved from a potential media scandal by the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu.
Speaking at a welcoming ceremony for the First Lady and other state governors’ wives, Adeleke expressed his gratitude for her support and praised her for initiating the establishment of The Alternative High School for Girls in Osun State.
He mentioned that Osun State was chosen through a raffle draw for this project and despite facing challenges that almost prevented the event from happening, he was glad that the First Lady was present.

Adeleke also highlighted the First Lady’s role in his personal experience with the media. He recalled a time when the media caught him sleeping in the Senate and attempted to blackmail him.
Feeling helpless, he turned to Oluremi Tinubu for advice. She advised him not to respond to their accusations and to let them write whatever they wanted.
Drawing from her own experience with media scrutiny, she reminded him that he was only human.
Following her advice, Adeleke was able to avoid paying a large sum of money to the media and resolved the situation.
