Mrs. Tinubu urged Nigerians to look beyond the country’s current circumstances and consider the big picture.
President Bola Tinubu’s wife, First Lady Remi Tinubu, has once more pleaded with Nigerians to have patience with his administration, stating they genuinely want the best for the nation.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Mrs. Tinubu urged Nigerians to look beyond the country’s current circumstances and consider the big picture. Her spokesman is Busola Kukoyi.
The wife of the chief of the defence staff and president of the defence and police wives association, Mrs. Oghogho Musa, led the Wives of Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police in a speech to the First Lady.
The President’s wife gave the group the reassurance that the Tinubu administration is making every effort to mitigate the effects of the elimination of gasoline subsidies until the benefits of the policy start to manifest.
“We will need your various Associations from time to time,” she said, “at the very least to be able to reach out to women in your various barracks, to reassure them that we mean well for this country, that they should be patient, and that whatever we can do to ameliorate what the subsidy has meted out to us, we believe there is always light at the end of the tunnel.”
“It is a greater Nigeria we are looking out for, and it is a legacy that we would leave for our children and generations yet unborn, a Nigeria we can relate to better as Nigerians and also look for the good of this nation and the wealth of this country can be greater enhanced.”
The delegation’s head, Mrs Musa, had earlier declared that all of the associations that fall under the umbrella of spouses of police and military personnel are prepared to collaborate with Mrs Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.
Following that, the First Lady received a decoration designating her as the Grand Matron of the Defence and Police Officers Wives Association.
