The recent statements and actions of Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara have been deemed impeachable by the All Progressives Congress (APC), as stated by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka during a press conference in Abuja on Friday.
Morka condemned Fubara’s use of demolishing public assets as a means to target and punish legitimate members of the legislature, labeling it as a form of petty despotism that must be strongly denounced.
He emphasized that the governor’s assault on the House of Assembly and its leadership not only disregarded a court order but also blatantly violated the Constitution.

Morka highlighted that Fubara’s behavior and remarks were actively provoking his own impeachment, emphasizing that the Assembly holds legislative authority as per the Constitution and is a fundamental component of democracy, independent of the governor’s preferences.
Contrary to the claims of the PDP, Morka clarified that it is not the APC calling for Fubara’s impeachment, but rather his own actions and statements that are leading to this outcome, particularly his declaration that the Rivers State House of Assembly is non-existent, which is not only irresponsible but a direct challenge to the Nigerian constitution.
