Rema, the Afrobeats sensation whose real name is Divine Ikubor, has revealed that he was driven to pursue a career in music due to his mother’s struggles with poverty.

During an interview with Capital Xtral London, Rema shared that his mother struggled to cover transportation costs during her daily routines, which inspired him to strive for success.

“I was fed up with my mother walking every day, unable to afford transportation by bus or bike. Therefore, I had to elevate the situation immediately,” he expressed.

As soon as I earned some money, my top priority was to purchase a car for her without any delay. Following that, we had dinner together before presenting the vehicle to her. Although most guys might prioritize buying a personal car initially, I prioritized fulfilling my mother’s wish of owning one and therefore postponed purchasing mine despite walking around everywhere until then.
