Afrobeats artist Rema is preparing to drop his inaugural single of 2025, “Baby (Is It a Crime),” scheduled for release on Friday, February 7th.

This announcement follows his appearance at the 67th Grammy Awards, where he received a nomination for Best Global Album.

The song incorporates a sample from Sade’s iconic track “Is It a Crime,” featured on her 1985 album “Promise.” Rema’s rendition is anticipated to seamlessly merge his distinctive Afrobeats style with the soulful melody of Sade.

“Baby (Is It a Crime)” is Rema’s first release following his second album, “HEIS,” in 2024.

The album honored the rich history of Nigerian music and inspired the industry to seek inspiration from within.
