The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council’s spokesperson, Festus Keyamo, has made fun of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s nominee.
On Saturday night, Keyamo also shared a photo of Tinubu’s American visa through Twitter.
“For trouble-makers peddling false rumors that @officialABAT’s visa to the US has been refused, you leave us with no choice except to show you his current visa,” the statement reads (that has always been renewed since time immemorial).
He added the following note on the visa: “This is for the foolish ones who believe these rumors.
There were rumors that Tinubu’s visa was refused by the US after his travel was postponed.
According to a statement released by the APC Presidential Campaign Council last week, Tinubu would go abroad beginning on December 4 to meet with world leaders and promote his candidacy for president.
The campaign council revealed in a statement posted to its Twitter account that Tinubu and his delegation will visit important European Union member states, including France, the United States, and London, to share his vision and plans and to enlist the support of the Western powers for the democratic process that will usher in a new government in Nigeria starting on May 29, 2023.
On Monday, December 5, 2022, at Chatham House, the premier think tank for foreign and domestic affairs in the United Kingdom, Tinubu will deliver a speech on security, the economy, and international relations.
However, there were rumblings that Tinubu had been refused admission into the US due to various accusations made against him.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, an APC leader who served as a governor from 1999 to 2007 with Tinubu, denied the rumor.
Orji Kalu asserted that Tinubu will arrive in the third week of December after receiving confirmation from the US State Department.
He stated in a Facebook post that as the election date approaches, the opposition will publish more false information about our presidential candidate, but we must constantly disregard it and focus on the task at hand. The rumor that Tinubu was turned down for a visa to the USA is untrue like all other bogus rumors.
“Tinubu delayed the trip on his own initiative and never had a visa rejected. I received confirmation from the US State Department that Tinubu will arrive in the third week of December. He will get a cordial welcome in the United States as the presidential candidate of our party and a man of remarkable charisma. OUK.”
