President Bola Tinubu attended and graduated from Chicago State University in 1979, according to Caleb Westberg, the university’s registrar, who made the affirmation on Tuesday.

In addition, Westberg acknowledged that the admittance document sent to the president of Nigeria clearly demonstrated that he was a man who attended the school between 1977 and 1979.

He declared: “Mr. Tinubu’s documents contain evidence that he identified as a man when submitting his application to CSU. Mr. Tinubu declared that he was a man. He was identified as a man in his admissions letter. ‘Dear Mr. Tinubu,’ it reads.

His declarations were recorded in a deposition that was taken in Chicago, Illinois, at the office of Angela Liu, the former vice president of the United States’ Atiku Abubakar’s legal representative.

While Michael Hayes was representing the CSU in court on Zoom, Liu’s firm contributed five attorneys.

On the other hand, Victor P. Henderson and Oluwole Afolabi were Tinubu’s legal representatives.

Westberg continued by telling the court that numerous people who fervently wanted to know if the president actually attended the university bombarded the institution with five to thirty inquiries every day.

Additionally, he denied that such requests were disclosed to the former Lagos governor by the alma mater.

He testified, “We believe that the current president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, attended CSU. In the US, the name Tinubu is uncommon. He compared the information given by the student or on their behalf with the entries in the file.

“We think the current president of Nigeria is the same Bola Tinubu who studied at CSU. Only unclaimed diplomas from students are held by the university.

“Since Mr. Tinubu did not pick up the diploma that was made accessible to Mr. Enahoro-Ebah, I have it in my hands. He chose it, so I do not have the diploma that was presented to INEC in our possession.

When questioned further about the gender of the Tinubu who enrolled at the institution, the registrar firmly asserted that “Tinubu applied to the university as a male and a letter of admission was issued to a male.”
