Teniola Apata, better known by her stage name Teni, is a well-known singer from Nigeria who has shared her love of polygamous families.
She said this while reminiscing on some of her happy childhood experiences growing up in a polygamous family.
Teni, who revealed that her late father had ten children by three spouses, said she had enjoyed growing up in a polygamous household and would have preferred it to a monogamous one in an interview with the Zero Conditions Podcast.

“I grew up in a polygamous family where you can’t do rubbish,” the woman remarked. I was showered with love and protection. Ten kids, three spouses. Much respect for my ancestry! Despite varying degrees of intimacy, I get along well with all of my siblings.
“Any other approach is tedious. I would like to re-enter this life and join the same family. How is it possible for me to live in a monogamous home where everyone sits down and there is no chaos?
“My family is filled with love since our mother is a crazy lady. Do you have any idea what it’s like to hear gunfire and then go investigate the source? That isn’t typical.
“My father seemed to have planned both his demise and his future.” Thus, he taught his wives everything before he passed away, even how to shoot, and they put that knowledge to use after his death. That’s how, despite the loss of my dad, our family has managed to stay together.
