The controversial artist Eedris Abdulkareem asserted that because of his personal relationship with President Bola Tinubu, Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka is not criticising the president despite the difficulties facing the nation.
He regretted that Soyinka, who was well-known for his scathing critiques of the previous government, had remained unjustly silent throughout this regime.
“Wole Soyinka hasn’t said anything lately. We can understand why, as I am aware of his positive relationship with Tinubu,” Abdulkareem said to SRTV.

When Prof. Wole Soyinka was questioned last year about his quiet in the face of the nation’s current misery, he responded that it was “too early” to evaluate President Tinubu’s government and that he would do it after he had been in office for a year.
According to Obasanjonews.com, President Tinubu’s administration has been in power for nearly a month, but the Nobel laureate has not yet delivered his anticipated evaluation of the administration.
