Doris Simeon, a Nigerian actress based in the United States, recently shared the reasons behind her decision to leave her career in Nigeria and move abroad.
Simeon, who gained popularity in the Yoruba film industry during the early 2000s, revealed in an interview with Kunle Afod that she made the move in 2018 primarily to be closer to her child who resides in America.

Expressing her nostalgia for Nigeria, Simeon mentioned missing the local street food vendors and their offerings such as roasted yam and corn, which she used to enjoy.
Despite missing her homeland, family, and friends, she also expressed longing for being on set and participating in the filming process, especially when she sees fellow actors and actresses sharing their behind-the-scenes moments on social media.
