Comedian Ayodeji Richard Makun, better known by his stage name AY, has disclosed the reason behind his recent fear of telling specific jokes.
According to Obasanjo News24, the comedian publicly apologised to musician Davido in October for making offensive remarks about how he had been trying for over 13 years to conceive with his larger manhood, but Davido was impregnating many women with his smaller one.

But in his most recent interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, AY accused bloggers of sensationalising his jokes and making them seem inappropriate.
He went on to say that some negative responses to his jokes damaged him as a person, thus he is now wary about telling such jokes.
“I’m a person. The time of that joke’s release was incorrect because sensationalism was now a part of it. That same day, there was an ongoing internet dispute between David and Amaju Pinnick. Apparently, this joke was made on the show before the incident escalated. However, have faith in the bloggers—they won’t give a damn—they’ll just take it and post a caption that starts the trend.
And as you may know, Nigerians dislike doing research or learning new stuff. They hope for my unborn child’s death based only on the headline. That will affect me as a human.
“It’s not that bad. This is just a lighthearted joke. To avoid getting into problems again, I’m even too afraid to speak it.
He went on to say that on his upcoming tour of the UK, he will even be more circumspect with his jokes.
