Ready for defeat as Gov. Fintiri mocks opponents in the governor’s race

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor on Saturday, Adamawa State’s Ahmadu Fintiri, has mocked his rivals by telling them to be ready to lose.

Following the conclusion of the current gubernatorial and House of Assembly Elections, Fintiri advised the opposing political parties to be prepared to concede defeat.

Immediately after casting his ballot at unit 004 in Kirchinga Ward of Madagali Local Government Area, major contender Fintiri expressed confidence in his ability to win the election.

He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the poll up to the time he voted about midday, asking INEC to ensure that the entire process turns out to be credible.

Senator Aishatu Ahmed Binani, who is running for governor as an All Progressives Congress candidate, is Fintiri’s main opponent in the governor’s race (APC).

Twelve additional candidates had registered for the election, but six of them had already resigned for Fintiri, and one, Umar Mustapha of the Labour Party, resigned for Binani.
