High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the 71-year-old Nigerian media tycoon, chairman of Daar Communication, and proprietor of African Independent Television and Raypower FM, has reportedly died.
According to Obasanjonews24, his son Raymond Dokpesi Jr. made this claim in a statement.
The statement verified the media icon’s passing on Monday.
The family did not divulge the cause of demise.
Dokpesi, who was a leader of the Peoples Democratic People, PDP, was born on October 25, 1951, in Edo state, Nigeria, and was of Nigerian descent.
High Chief Raymond Aleogho Anthony Dokpesi (Ezomo of the Kingdom of Weppa-Wanno) passed away on May 29, 2023. High Chief Dokpesi was a much-beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Everyone who knew him will mourn his passing. High Chief Dokpesi was also a respected and successful industrialist, a media industry pioneer, and a philanthropist who devoted his life to the service of his country and community.
