Popular Hausa musician Rarara’s mother has been found safe after her abduction. Get the latest updates on her rescue and well-being.
After being kidnapped, Hajiya Hawau’u Adamu – the mother of popular Hausa musician Dauda Adamu (also known as Rarara) who is 75 years old – has been released.
On Wednesday morning, Rarara made known the news of her release via his verified Instagram account.
Although there is a limited amount of information about her release, someone close to the family has revealed that the kidnappers initially asked for N1 billion. However, after some discussions took place – it was agreed upon to decrease this amount and settle at N900 million instead. Whether or not ransom money ended up making its way into their hands remains uncertain.

In Katsina State, Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu was taken captive in late June by alleged terrorists who promptly communicated their ransom demands to her family.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the kidnapping, as previously announced by the Katsina State Police Command.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu has released a police statement indicating that the suspects are presently under interrogation by officials.
