Rapper Sasha P Criticizes Materialism, Says Nigerians Worship Money

Nigerian rapper Sasha P has expressed concerns about the growing culture of materialism in the country, stating that Nigerians have placed undue importance on money above core values.

Veteran Nigerian rapper Anthonia Yetunde Alabi, known as Sasha P, has voiced concerns about the country’s obsession with wealth.

The 41-year-old expressed disappointment that Nigerians now assess a person’s worth based on wealth and treat affluent individuals like deities.

She clarified that money doesn’t define a person’s character; instead, it magnifies it.

She commented that in the country, when someone faces an insult, people often start by questioning the person’s net worth—a behavior she considers inappropriate.
