Despite being born Yoruba, Adekunle Idowu (also known as Idowest), an indigenous rapper has expressed his desire to identify himself now as a member of the Igbo community.
The rapper who speaks Yoruba expressed his feelings on the difficult situation in Nigeria and criticized some of his fellow Yorubas for opposing the proposed #EndBadGovernance protest.
He asserted that individuals who were against the proposed protests throughout the country were being guided by their emotions

Idowest wrote on his Snapchat page in several posts that, “It’s hypocritical of you to vote for Tinubu and then protest against the government. You’re audacious enough to charge me despite being a two-faced person. May justice be served both on Earth and in heaven.”
“Terrible leadership! It’s absurd that people scream their ethnicity in the name of it. Such foolishness. Henceforth, I identify as Igbo.”

“Nigerians are the root of Nigeria’s problems. While some individuals plan a peaceful protest, there are those who have foolishly chosen to resist protesting for just 1500 naira! Shameful!”
“Do not engage in protest, my people. Because N1500 is nothing compared to the consequences.”
