Grammy-winning musician Wizkid has come under fire from Nigerian hip-hop artist Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner, better known as Zoro Swagbag, for his divisive claim that “rap is dead.”

He claimed that this is true even though Wizkid insisted that rappers are the same worldwide and clarified that he wasn’t talking about Nigerian rappers.

The “Ogene” crooner claimed that Wizkid’s presentation was terrible in a recent interview with reality personality Tacha on Cool FM Nigeria, Lagos.

“What’s your opinion on Wizkid’s statement about rap being dead?” Tacha enquired. Do you personally believe that hip-hop has died?

In response, Zoro said, “I don’t think so. However, I think what he was attempting to communicate is a really good notion. It was improper the way he phrased it.

“He claimed that we misquoted him and that he wasn’t referring about rappers from Nigeria. However, when it comes to rappers, they’re all the same, right?

Naturally, rap is still relevant. Simply put, it took us too long to begin producing rap that is as entertaining as it is at the moment. As Falz has already done and as individuals like Odumodublvck are doing.
