Ramat Polytechnic is given a new rector by Zulum
The appointment of Mr. Bukar Abubakar as the new rector of Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, has received the Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State’s approval.
Abubakar was the polytechnic’s deputy rector for administration prior to his appointment, according to a statement from Mallam Isa Gusau, the governor’s special adviser on media and strategy.
“The new Rector was head of Department, Mechanical Engineering Technology, from 2014 to 2019, acting director, School of Engineering in 2016, principal lecturer from 2018 to 2021, deputy rector, administration, from 2020, chairman, staff development committee, from 2020 to date, and chief lecturer from 2022 to present.
In academic publications, the incoming rector has “close to 40 published and few unpublished research works,” according to the announcement.
Abubakar belongs to the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, the Nigeria Association of Vocational and Technical Educators, the International Association of Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, according to the statement.
